AGEING rock stars normally move to the country or buy an island when they take a step back from the stage, but not The Smashing Pumpkin's Billy Corgan.
Instead the rocker, whose soft rock launched a 1000 copycat bands, has started his own pro-wrestling league, The Guardian reports.Earlier this year the 44- year-old, who has been a passionate fan of the sport for more than 15 years, helped found Resistance Pro. Today marks the league’s first professional fight in Chicago.
The Pumpkins front man is reportedly keen to give female wrestlers the opportunity to compete athletically and not just be eye-candy.
"Oftentimes it's one of the first forms of entertainment to address uncomfortable things in the culture," he said.
